As deep researchers and optimistic, meticulous, problem solvers, we continually experiment with ways to positively impact the industry and the people that serve it.
Our vision utilizes digital transformation to empower shipping companies to make better informed decisions with actional insights from accurate near-real-time data – providing procedural, inventory, and operational optimization. We’ve realized that the future of industry can be a “win-win” net sum gain for business, people, and the environment. To achieve those goals, we will rely on our values of empathy, zeal, honesty, and rigor.
Every solution derives from a pain point. In this case, the shipping industry lacks accurate spare parts storage and consumption data. So, our focus is simple: Bringing order to inventory chaos.
In 2019, our founders recognized an opportunity to improve supply chains and conditions for those that operate on the oceans that we all love and share. Passionate about travel, surfing, and the natural environment, and with backgrounds in information systems, business management, and maritime operations, they answered a Call to Action.

Vessel owners and operators require precision clarity on the location of spare parts, inventory levels, and consumption patterns across the fleet. Carrying excess spare parts inventory has historically been an unnecessary cost to the maritime and offshore industry. Fleetwide, an estimated 12 million man-hours go wasted every year to reconcile inventory, only to achieve 20% data accuracy.
As a result, organizations are continually looking to improve accuracy and optimize operations that cut expenditures. However, attempts to benefit the whole organization often fail to consider difficult workflow conditions or provide solutions that engineers & staff willingly adopt.
The digitalization of spare parts inventory management delivers increased speed, visibility, and accuracy.
More importantly, it provides cost savings and reduces environmental footprints. Additionally, companies that digitize this process can better manage cash and activities while reducing human-error and operational variance between vessels.
Our journey has brought about PROPELLER. SCNX Internet of Things (IoT) solution enables company-wide visibility throughout the supply chain. PROPELLER can achieve accurate near-real-time spare parts inventory by using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)- & QR-coded tags, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML).
